Teresa Oaxaca Palette

The selected list of materials is an integral part of my working palette. It has been selected for fast drying time so that your progress in the workshop may run smoothly without the added difficulty of having to work over still wet or tacky paint. You will notice the high number of earth colors, numbers, and lead pigments. The oils that bind these pigments and that will be used as a medium also exemplify quick drying times.

The Teresa Oaxaca Basic Palette includes 50 ml tubes of each of the colors in the table below:

	820-104	2	Rublev Colours Ultramarine Blue (Green Shade) is an intense deep blue with greenish undertones when mixed with white from an inorganic pigment of sodium aluminum silicate composition. It is a transparent, fine-grained color with high tinting strength.
	820-235	3	Rublev Colours Chromium Oxide Green is a high quality, clean, medium shade, long-lasting green color with excellent lightfastness. This opaque green features high tinting strength and good drying properties.
	820-306	1	Rublev Colours Lemon Ocher is a transparent yellow with low tinting strength, medium-grained that makes lemon half tints. Our lemon (ICLES) ocher is from quarries in northern Italy.
	820-342	7	Rublev Colours Lead-Tin Yellow Dark (Type I) is a semi-opaque ocherous yellow, fine-grained with medium tinting strength. Our lead-tin yellow is made according to historical recipes.
	820-403	4	Rublev Colours Orange Molybdate is a brilliant orange made of lead chromate and lead molybdate and used in plastics, protective coatings, and printing inks, but rarely as an artist’s paint.
	820-502	2	Rublev Colours Pozzuoli Red is a semi-transparent deep orange-red earth with warm undertones, medium grained with good tinting strength, and brushes “long.” Our red earth comes from quarries in Northern Italy.
	820-512	4	Rublev Colours Alizarin Crimson is a translucent bluish red with high tinting strength, fine-grained, and a ‘short’ buttery paint.
	820-615	1	Rublev Colours Cyprus Raw Umber Dark is a semi-transparent dark, almost black, brown with good tinting strength, medium-grained, and, like most Rublev Colours Artist Oils, brushes long in the direction of the brush stroke.
	820-802	5	Rublev Colours Lead White #1 in alkali-refined linseed oil is an opaque white that is soft and slightly ropey. Lead White #1 is a faster-drying white than our #2 flake white (also known as Cremnitz white), ground in walnut oil.
	820-903	1	Rublev Colours Bone Black is a semi-opaque black with good tinting strength, fine-grained, and brushes long in the direction of the brush stroke.

	820-112	3	Rublev Colours Maya Blue is a transparent black-blue with high tinting strength, fine-grained, and a ‘short’ buttery paint. Maya blue is indigo on a base of palygorskite clay (formerly attapulgite), the principal component.
	820-122	7	Rublev Colours Cobalt Chromite Blue is an intense dark blue with greenish undertones when mixed with white from the inorganic pigment of cobalt chromite, called incorrectly “Cerulean blue” in other oil paint ranges. It is a semi-transparent, fine-grained color with high tinting strength.
	820-401	1	Rublev Colours Orange Ocher is an opaque orange-yellow with good tinting strength, fine-grained, and brushes “long” in the direction of the brush stroke. Our orange ocher is a single pigment color made of natural iron oxide hydroxide mineral from the last remaining European company operating the ocher deposits in the French quarries of Gargas and Rustrel nestled in a 12-mile-long enclave in the heart of the Luberon Massif, the ocher country.
	820-508	10	Rublev Colours Vermilion is an intense red found in historical paintings since antiquity. It is opaque, has good tinting strength, and smooth grained.
	820-542	7	Rublev Colours Cadmium Red Light is a highly saturated, orange-red with excellent lightfastness. This opaque red features very high tinting strength and moderate drying properties.
	820-610	1	Rublev Colours French Raw Umber is a semi-transparent, deep greenish brown with good tinting strength, fine-grained, and, like most Rublev Colours Artist Oils, brushes long in the direction of the brush stroke.
