ALLINPANEL™ Lead Oil-Primed Linen ACM Panel
Artefex Allinpanel is a professional panel for oil painting with 100% linen canvas lead oil-primed and adhered with BEVA 371 film to a two-sided aluminum composite panel, consisting of two aluminum sheets laminated to both sides of a black polyethylene core. This panel is available in sizes from 8 x 10 to 20 x 24 inches. This item does not qualify for free shipping.
Artefex Allinpanel™ Lead Oil-Primed Linen is a professional panel with 100% linen canvas, lead white oil-primed and adhered with BEVA 371 to a two-sided aluminum composite panel.
The panel is a lightweight but rigid and durable aluminum composite material (ACM)—two strong sheets of aluminum bonded to a solid polyethylene core. The panel is coated on one side with a white polyester finish and a mill (polished aluminum) finish on the other side. This panel is 3mm thick and is available in sizes from 8 x 10 to 20 x 24 inches. This weather-resistant panel is ideal for a wide range of paint mediums including these:
• Oil
• Oil-alkyd
• Oil-resin
Artefex Allinpanels offer a superior support for painting compared to wood panels because ACM panels have very low response to environmental changes, such as relative humidity (RH) and temperature.
What are Aluminum Composite Panels?
Allinpanel is made using lightweight but rigid and durable aluminum composite material (ACM)—two strong sheets of aluminum bonded to a solid polyethylene core. The panel is coated on one side with a white polyester finish and a mill finish (polished aluminum) on the other side. The panel is 3mm thick (without the canvas) and is available in sizes from 8 x 10 to 20 x 24 inches. Weather-resistant Allinpanels are ideal for a wide range of paint mediums.

Lead White Oil-Primed
Artefex Lead White Oil-Primed ACM Panels are primed with lead white oil priming. The lead white provides best resistance to the environment from changes in relative humidity (RH) and the titanium white the greatest opacity and brightest white. This type of primer does not absorb water readily and is especially suitable for oil, oil-resin and oil-alkyd paint. Oil priming requires a more complex process than acrylic (universal) priming and needs the utmost care and attention to produce a quality surface for painting. Two coats of oil priming are applied, then dried in low temperature ovens where the temperature and humidity are maintained at constant levels to achieve an optimal final result. The brightness and tone of oil colors are brought out by this special kind of preparation. The brushstroke is both fluent and well defined on this type of priming.

Why BEVA 371 Adhesive?
BEVA 371 is an adhesive used in conservation to mount canvas and paper to rigid supports. BEVA 371 was developed by Gustav Berger, a renowned conservation researcher, after initiating a research program investigating lining adhesives for paintings. A series of formulations were developed, composed of a combination of ethylene vinyl acetate (EVA), waxes and ketone resins. After subjecting the combinations to accelerated aging environments involving heat- and light-aging, the best combination was selected—BEVA 371. Many studies have shown BEVA 371 to be an excellent adhesive. It adheres well, remains flexible and is soluble to solvents that do not damage oil paint. One of the many advantages of BEVA 371 is that it does not cross-linking over time and that, if used properly, it can be easily removed from fragile artwork without staining or damage. In other words, the adhesive is reversible, so that if the panel should become damaged the canvas can be removed without damage to the painting.
